BearingNet is a small friendly technology company providing an online marketplace for three independent industries that markets to 2,500+ users from over 80 countries worldwide and we are looking for a full stack developer to join our technical team.

As a Technical team we are always looking to improve and devise new innovative solutions to help continue driving the business forward.

Your role will be modernising full stack applications and propelling design principles in cloud-based technology. Other key areas of work include system design analysis and testing, maintaining the integrity and security of our data.

Responsibilities

Develop, test, and deploy high-quality software solutions using C#, ASP .NET Core 8, and related technologies
Design and implement scalable and efficient front-end and back-end components for web applications
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, define project scope, and deliver solutions that meet business objectives
Troubleshoot and debug issues to ensure optimal performance and reliability of applications
Stay current with industry trends and best practices in software development and share knowledge with team members
Participate in code reviews, provide feedback, and contribute to continuous improvement of development processes
Deliver the highest standard of client service customer focus
Seeing through a project from conception to finished product
Overseeing, testing and providing feedback to management during the development process
Maintaining uptime

Requirements:

Bachelor''s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
5 years proven experience as a Full Stack Developer or similar role, with strong proficiency in C# programming language
Solid understanding of web development technologies, including HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, Jquery and MVC
Experience with ASP.NET Core, Entity Framework, and Azure SQL Server or other relational databases
Strong understanding of database design and maintenance
Familiarity with RESTful APIs, microservices architecture, and cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Strong communication and collaboration abilities, with a passion for teamwork
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
Driving license - we work in a beautiful village, but it is not served well by public transport
UK resident and right to work in the UK is required

Advantageous skills:

Experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
Experience with Microsoft Azure and associated tools such as Azure Functions
Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies
Familiarity with mobile app development (iOS/Android) using Xamarin or similar frameworks

Launched in 1996, BearingNet was created as the first online inquiry and information service designed exclusively for Bearing & Power Transmission Distributors. The basic concept was to help distributors trade hard-to-find, obsolete or surplus bearings more efficiently and effectively, by networking the bearing industry together.   
 

We provide this service via our online platforms, used by thousands of people internationally, with traffic exceeding three million page views a day and helping facilitate over $10 billion worth of trade annually.  
  

Distributors upload their inventory to our search database which now consists of 14.5 million parts, which is then used for companies to locate who has the part they need, in stock and ready to ship.  

Our system works particularly well for emergency supply, shortages, and long lead times. The platform mostly serves European companies, but our platform is used in over 80 countries worldwide.

In 2017 we designed our second platform using the same business model but for the fluid power industry and in 2023 we acquired a fastener platform with a similar business model. Our aim is to grow our portfolio, giving distributors across different industries the same benefits that thousands of our members have received via BearingNet.
