We have a great opportunity to lead the Shared Services Development team, in the development of Shared Services offering that ensures that reusable components such as Operational Dashboard, Messaging and Notification are standard.

Requirements

Key responsibilities

Provide line management for software engineers within product teams.
Communicate effectively with all departments to deliver business value for the team’s applications.
Management and progression of additional consumable shared service components in python that integrate with core platform services, such as Excel Addins, Data Platforms and APIs.
Assist Integration of Code Quality and Security Testing Tools within other product team software build pipelines.
Provide third line support for Business Python Development on shared environments.
Assistance of assessment and planning for managing third party library upgrades and remediation of vulnerabilities.
Assistance with training support on Developer Tooling including GIT, Azure DevOps, IDEs and AI powered tools.
Engage in hands-on work when required for the implementation of internal applications and web services.

Person Specification

Knowledge, experience, skills, and abilities (technical competencies)

Proficiency in one or more structured programming languages such as Java, C# or Python.
Proficiency in web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, HTTP) and modern web development frameworks (React, Angular, Dash).
Experience of version control systems like Git.
Deep understanding of data structures, algorithms, system design, and software architecture.
Experience of databases and data warehouse technology (SQL or NoSQL).
Extensive experience with testing frameworks and methodologies.
Strong management and leadership skills.
Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and stakeholders.
Excellent problem-solving abilities and analytical thinking.
