Job Title: Quality Engineer / Manager

We are a successful and expanding Sub-Contract engineering company based near Croxley Green, Hertfordshire (5 – 10 mins from M25), supplying high quality components to a wide range of industries including aerospace, medical, food / scientific, motorsport and oil & gas amongst many others.

Due to a growing order book, we are seeking a proactive, and energetic “hands on” Quality Engineer / Manager to join our busy and expanding team whilst we continue to move through an exciting stage in the development of our business.
This role could potentially suit an experienced Senior Quality Inspector / Quality Engineer looking to develop into a more QA based role whilst still having opportunities to remain involved in Quality Inspection activities.

Duties will include: Quality Engineer / Manager

Leading the Inspection Department; ensuring it is running efficiently and effectively to meet production requirements & customer delivery dates - including carrying out Inspection activities as required.
Maintaining the company’s Quality Management System in accordance with ISO9001:2015 requirements.
Conducting root cause & corrective/preventative actions; implementing robust solutions using a range of tools including 8D / 5 whys etc.
Co-ordinating the creation of First Article Inspection Reports with the Inspection team when required.
Assisting with producing Quality & Delivery KPI reports.
Conducting internal audits & assisting with external audits.

Essential experience / skills: Quality Engineer / Manager

Knowledgeable, experienced, and proactive Senior Inspector / Quality Engineer / Manager - ideally from a Subcontract Machining background.
Leadership ability: able to use initiative and organise themselves & the rest of their team with the ability to motivate others, achieving the desired results.
Excellent communication and influencing skills.
Proven ability to establish root cause & corrective/preventative actions & implement robust solutions using a range of tools including 8D / 5 whys / Control plans etc.
Strong problem-solving skills coupled with an excellent technical understanding.
Good knowledge of CNC/Manual machining methods.
Experienced in using a range of inspection measurement tools (including CMM’s) and methodologies.
ISO9001:2015 internal auditing experience.
Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office.

Hours of work: Quality Engineer / Manager Monday – Thursday 7:30am‐ 4:00pm, Friday 7:30am to 2:30pm

Salary Quality Engineer / Manager up to £45k - negotiable (dependant on experience)
