Lead Software Engineer

NB – please only apply if you have senior level experience in python development and have been hands on with DevOps and cloud infrastructure deployment. Any interest and experience around 3D, machine learning or gaming is a bonus!

London / Hybrid

Our client is a gen-AI start-up disrupting how 3D content is created and managed. The platform uses computer vision to improve content management. It’s a business with great product market fit, with clients including major gaming studios and other creators of 3d worlds.

We’re looking for a lead engineer to join this early stage business. The business is securely funded, has great momentum and stellar West Coast VCs on board.

You will be an integral part of the founding team. You have a mix of deep technical expertise, architecture knowledge and ability to be hands on with high quality code.

About

We’re looking for a Lead engineer to work hand in hand with a great CTO to prepare an API product for further scale, expand the deployment options for customers, and to build the back end of a machine learning product.

You’ll need to be excited about diving into new technologies across the stack and driving forward projects across 3 small engineering pods.

We’re looking for someone with high proficiency in python. Ideally you’ve excelled and progressed through the ranks in a great tech team and ready to take part in

Developing the core customer-facing API (Python FastAPI)
Expanding customer deployment options for API/models to include cloud (e.g. AWS sagemaker), and on-prem deployments.
Building and optimising dockerfiles for Machine Learning models and other components of our 3D tagging pipeline.
Contributing to our API documentation
Mentoring developers, and hiring as the team grows this year

If you can say yes to most of these, we think you could really help

Fluent in Python

- Experience in architecting APIs in Python - ideally with FastAPI

Experience with Docker
Experience with AWS (the stack includes ECS, Sagemaker, Lambda)
Experience with deploying API’s as private cloud offerings, and on-prem
Experience managing CI/CD pipelines (CircleCI) and building test (pytest)

Bonus:

Lead and management experience a bonus (however impressive projects are more important than team size, years of management experience etc)
Experience with Python scripting in blender (bpy package)
Experience with MLOps or deploying machine learning models
