Job Title: Twilio Software Developer
Salary: £70,000 - £75,000 D.O.E

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Software developer with expertise in building contact centre tooling using Twilio. As a Software Engineer, you will play a crucial role in developing, maintaining, and enhancing our contact centre infrastructure to ensure seamless and efficient customer interactions. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and other developers, to create robust and scalable solutions that meet our business needs. You will also be responsible for backend query support, including handling database-related inquiries and resolving any related issues.

Responsibilities:

Design and implement communication solutions using Twilio’s API suite including voice, SMS, chat, and video.
Integrate Twilio with existing systems, databases, and web services.
Maintain and optimize existing Twilio implementations, ensuring the highest level of functionality and user experience.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management, design, and operations, to define and deliver new communication features and enhancements.
Design and implement a robust data pipeline for Twilio and other customer support data sources, providing valuable insights through insightful reporting capabilities, real-time wallboards, and interactive dashboards.
Stay updated with Twilio’s latest offerings and innovations, ensuring our applications make full use of the latest capabilities.
Monitor and troubleshoot issues, ensuring smooth and uninterrupted communication services.
Design and implement failover and disaster recovery solutions using Twilio and related technologies.
Develop documentation and training materials for other developers and end-users regarding Twilio-based applications and integrations.
Provide expert technical customer support to agents, offering bug triaging, process improvement, data fixes, and manual script execution as needed.
Respond to ad-hoc backend query requests and troubleshoot database-related issues.
Assists in scaling, refining, and tuning of services for optimal performance.

Qualifications:

Proven experience of 5+ years as asoftware engineer with extensive Twilio experience
Proven experience in developing with the Twilio API and its core products, including Programmable Voice, Conversations, TaskRouter, and Flex.
Proficiency in programming/scripting languages such as Python, JavaScript or TypeScript
Strong experience with database querying languages like SQL to extract and manipulate data.
Familiarity with web services and API integration concepts along with OAuth, SSL, and other security protocols to ensure secure communication.
Knowledge of cloud platforms and services, such as AWS, and experience with building and deploying applications on AWS services
Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) utilities like Terraform or CloudFormation.
Experience in integrating Twilio with other platforms and third-party applications.
Experience working in projects that are using Agile and DevOps standard methodologies.
Good understanding of security protocols and data privacy concerns related to communication platforms.
Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and address technical challenges.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work in a team and convey technical concepts clearly.
